What is Menopause?

Menopause can be easier.

The definition of menopause is the lack of a menstrual period for one year. It is a diagnosis that can only be made in hindsight, because a woman may not have a period for six months and then start having them again. This means she is still in perimenopause.

Menopause can be very difficult for some women, with symptoms of sleep disruption, hot flushes, night sweats, brain fog, poor memory, aches and pains, vaginal dryness, low libido and dry skin. The average age of menopause is 52 years and in our society, women approaching this age often have a full career, with children still at home and with parents to care for. When these symptoms begin, it can be very disabling so it’s very gratifying to be able to give these women their life back.
